Collaboration Blog

Have you ever wondered how animals invision things? Or have you ever imagined animals being artistic in a way we as humans are? We recently saw a video on youtube of intelligent animals painting pictures. Watch this! The link we just provided introduces elephants painting.
Elephants are exceptionally smart animals. They have the largest brain of any land animal and they have three times as many neurons than us! They can identify languages, use tools, show empathy, and have amazing memories. This shows us how they do so great in painting and how we know forsure that the elephant is painting from their own ideas. I watched a video on how it is they got the idea for them to paint. It said that they noticed the elephant scratching the floor with a stick and replaced it with a paintbrush and put them in front of a canvas.
Elephants have amazing memories, no wonder why they can paint so well. In these photos it shows the elephant painting trees and other elephants most likely because that's what they're surrounded by.
The sad thing about this situation is that elephants are trained in a brutal way. First the people “break” them by beating them with weapons that have an axe like blade. They tie them up so they can't go anywhere and chain them to the floor and they use other weapons to harm the elephant to learn. The art is beautiful, and the elephants that create it are even more so. This collaboration blog is about elephants and their beautiful art pieces but I will not advocate it if elephants are being forced in a brutal way. Elephants have excellent memories so they can never forget what is done to them.

Installation art discovery

I was recently introduced to instalation art.Installation art is mostly desighned to transform the perspective of space. Its abstract, its landmarking, its public, and the matireals used have a wide variety. When I was first introduced into installation it immedeatly caught my atention to continue finding information. I came across a 3D drawing that was perfect for the definition if installation. Im not familiar with the name but its located in Paris. It's two girraffes standing side by side and as you walk over it tranfrorms into the front face of an elephant. What I gathered is that its displaying perpective, it all depends on how you see it from where your standing.
My intentions with showing this topic on my blog is my way of sharing my new experiences with anyone who checks it out. Im not a professional;im a amature. Maybe not even that. My point being that since im not a proffessional I dont expect my audience to be either. So its most likely new to you if your on my level.
I put the words "installation art" in the google search bar. The information that I found was very helpful. I looked at a few pictures that led to websites and took notes so I can learn more about the subject. For an example I found that instalation is a genre and has a wide variety of genres. lights, kenetic, landmarking, graphic desighn etc. I found that I like the enviromental installation the most.I feel like I have alot more knowlage on instalation and more on the variety it has. It's defenetly more a major genre than a minor in the art world. Mostly because its not only interesting or entertaining to look at while you walk or drive by, it has a deeper meaning in the actual work itself.

Hands

In my art class i learned about drawing hands and that made me think of my art blog. Hands are a really difficult thing to draw. Its always easier to start with a figure like a hand instead of trying to just jump into it.Image result for hand figure to start drawing
As difficult as they are to draw they are used in some of the most beautiful pieces of art. Artist use them as a main focus in their work. Weather its drawing, painting, or using them as sculptures.Image result for hand drawings Image result for hand artImage result for hand art
Hands say a lot. They make symbols for certain things, words, strength, power. The fingers represent things too. I saw this tattoo idea that Im  really considering. The index finger is blame, the middle finger is for hate, the ring finger is for love, the pinkie for promise, and the thumb for judgement. Your hands are your power. Your advantage to anything and everything you do.

The Pillow, Wall, and Her Eyes

She needed an escape. The yelling, fighting, the pain. Autumn came home one day from school and first thing she did was scream into her pillow. The tears run down her face and into the white pillow. Her pillows always had black streaks on them. Inspiration hit her. She looks in the mirror and sees the makeup running down her face. She rubs the makeup around her eyes. Smearing it everywhere. She runs to the garage and grabs a bucket of black paint. Comes back into her room, sticks her hands in the paint and starts painting her wall. Black spreading it around. Smearing it all over her white wall.
She decides to take a bath. The warm water soothes her. She dunks her head under and starts to dream as she holds her breath...
."WAKE UP! OH MY GOD, can you hear me? get up!" Her mom picked her up out of the water and pumps her stomach. "Please don't go. please. Breathe Autumn, BREATHE!" Autumn gasps for air as she wakes up. She fell asleep in the bath and wakes up from the dream.
She walked out to the living room to find her dad passed out on the floor with a bottle of whiskey. She looked in the back yard and her brothers are playing. She cleaned up her dads mess and helps him on the couch.
"Hey Autumn!" the boys say.
 "Whats for dinner?"Luke says.
 "Pizza?" Autumn replied.
"YES!" Luke and Carter say in excitement.
There is no escape for Autumn today from her dads drunkenness'and family dis-functions. Today there is only pizza, and that good enough.

Do you want to learn how to draw some pretty good animals? If you are unmotivational about drawing and you want to excel in drawing then this book is great for you. Now if you're not good at shading or starting out with figures to make into something, this book gives you tips in the beginning of the book on how to shade and other useful techniques for your drawings to look more efficient.

If drawing animals isn't your thing  Jack Hamm makes other books too. My writing teacher told me she just isn't into animals. But she is into wonder woman, which is a good thing because Jack Hamm made a book called Cartooning The Head And Figure.  It's a book that opens the field of cartooning to anyone who enjoys to draw. I personally never read this book but i did look up a review and it has four and a half stars. It says “This book should be titled "The Encyclopedia of Cartooning the Head & Figure" since it not only demonstrates a variety of techniques, but it also thoroughly catalogs eyes, noses, mouths, expressions, and positions to name a few. Whether you use this book to learn to draw or to get ideas, you will use this book. ( )” Library Thing.

How To Draw Animals by Jack Hamm has the basic fundamentals for a beginner. The simple step by step instructions have over one thousand illustrations to visually show you how to draw the specific animal you wish to draw. This book is really good for beginners or even those who are experienced. I drew a couple of animals and they turned out amazing.

So take it from me, if you wish to improve in drawing then you should check his books out in your local library or even school library. If you don't really like to draw and u have no dedication to it then don't even waste your time with reading Hamm's books. There the type of books that you want if you're trying to improve or need tips for your drawings. https://www.amazon.com/Draw-Animals-Perigee-Jack-Hamm/dp/0399508023/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475865261&sr=8-1&keywords=how+to+draw+animals+by+jack+hamm

The Continuous Conflict: Is Graffiti vandalism?
Graffiti is a really conflicting subject. Some people consider graffiti vandalism or gang affiliated. Others see it as an art. It all depends like how everything else does, on the time date and place. I'm not an official or have any authority to say, but my opinion is if you do it out of your passion of the arts or for a good enough reason out of intuition then i think it's totally fine. I know i'm not the only one who thinks this way.
Obviously there are different opinions. Such as google. As i was typing in “Graffiti vandalism or art?” in the search bar it immediately stated “The question “When does graffiti become art?” is meaningless. Graffiti is always vandalism. By definition it is committed without permission on another person's property, in an adolescent display of entitlement. Whether particular viewers find any given piece of graffiti artistically compelling is irrelevant.” I thought i was going to rant about an article but i'm going to make this self selected response just on this quote. first thing, “when does graffiti become art?” Graffiti is a category of art. The question is not meaningless it's a door to open your mind on your opinion. Second thing that i don't agree with is the definition of graffiti. It honestly sounds like a definition of vandalism. Vandalism and graffiti are two separate things. I can see that people use graffiti letters while they are vandalizing property or “tagging.” Graffiti isn't always vandalism, that's like saying if you draw a name on a piece of paper with graffiti letters it's vandalism, no it's graffiti. Art is never irrelevant, you can make it out of anything if u look in a different perspective. Freedom of expression is art, and if you feel passionate about graffiti and make a career out of it then you aren't doing anything wrong. Being yourself and being able to express it is amazing and dangerous sometimes. So if you are into graffiti, go for it.

Introduction

Art is so fascinating. I personally have a passion for it. That's why I decided to make my blog about fine art. I specify "fine art" because there's many types of categories for art and fine art consists of. for example drawing, painting, sculptures and print making is what's under "fine art" if you looked it up on the internet.  I personally connect through art emotionally. It kind of speaks to me on a different level. There's an energy around different kinds of art. There's always negative and positive, cold or warm. Even the meaningless art has meaning.
Yes, my blog is about fine arts. There is more art out there than fine arts that I find pretty interesting that will be posted. Such as make up(professional or amateur), body painting, poems, and cultural art.
My hopes for this blog is just to share my opinions and hopefully make artists more known.  I would like to share the energy, the emotion, and my personal thoughts on the art that I post. And I want to know your thoughts and your opinions too. I want to see through your eyes and feel the energy you feel. This blog isn't just about me and my opinions and what I believe. Its about you and the artists.
